THE EDEN PROJECT

The Eden Project opened to the public in 2001 and has become one of Cornwall’s most popular visitor attractions.  It comprises of a number of dome shaped plant houses all homing a variety of plant species from around the World and it also boasts the largest greenhouse!!! The domes are made out of hundreds of tough plastic hexagons offering a very distinctive appearance. The Eden Project is located 2km from St Blazey and 5km from St Austell. It has a great location that’s easy to find.

ST MICHAEL’S MOUNT

Don’t miss out on the amazing island world of St Michael’s Mount. Covered with legends, and myths for over a thousand years it holds an incredible history. Tread where the pilgrims once walked and brave the causeway at low water or enjoy a short motor boat trip when the tide is in. Even getting to St Michael’s Mount is always an adventure!! There are ancient, cobbled path ways to the inspiring medieval castle and once at the top you can gaze down at the beautiful gardens and enjoy magnificent views across the bay to Penzance.

PENDENNIS CASTLE

Journey through 450 years of history at Pendennis from Tudor times to World War II and discover the wartime secrets of Pendennis Castle. There's plenty to see and interactive displays undercover as well as acres of space for children to let off steam - ideal for all weathers. Each day (except on event days) through the summer, there is a noon day firing of one of the working guns at midday complete with introduction to the history of the gun. (April to Oct).

THE BLUE REEF AQUARIUM

From the local Cornish coast to the dazzling beauty of the Tropical Reef, Newquay Blue Reef aquarium has an exciting world of underwater adventure waiting to be discovered. More than 40 innovative displays vividly bring to life the sights, sounds and smells of the sea, whilst regular feeding displays, rock-pool workshops and informative talks provide a fun and fascinating day out.

At the aquariums heart is a spectacular coral reef display housed within a 250,000 litre ocean tank - home to exotic tropical species like black tip reef sharks and Omiros the rescued loggerhead turtle. As well as hundreds of brightly-coloured reef fish and a huge Southern Stingray. Situated on Towan Promenade in the heart of Newquay, Blue Reef Aquarium not only offers a beach on its doorstep but also an amazing experience, whatever the weather!

BODMIN JAIL

Bodmin Jail was originally built for King George III in 1779: The Jail you see today was built with the help of the prisoners who brought 20,000 tons of granite from Bodmin's Cuckoo Quarry. Wander leisurely through the depths of the Jail, over five levels, and browse creative exhibits depicting penal life in Victorian Cornwall. Be sure to visit the Execution Shed; a fully restored, 4.5mtr deep, Victorian hanging pit. This is the only hanging pit in the UK and the site of the last man executed in Cornwall.

NEWQUAY ZOO

Get close to over 1,000 of the world’s rarest and endangered animals at Newquay Zoo! Located on the north coast of Cornwall, surrounded by 13 acres of lush tropical gardens it is a visitor attraction where you can run wild, explore and release your inner animal.

Watch the lions devour their lunch and then adventure into the Tropical House (if you're brave enough) and meet some of the more unusual residents including a sloth!

If that isn’t enough, they have activity trails, face painting, a children’s play area, a Tarzan trail and Dragon maze to keep the little ones busy.
